-ne Yesterday at work I had the honour and privilege of taking WHMIS training. For example, the lady who spills coffee (a hazardous substance in itself, at least where I work) on the carpet and uses two different substances to try to clean it. If you read the preceeding two sentences, I just saved you about 89 minutes and 50 seconds.I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen any kind of instructional or informational film that didn’t make me laugh. One of my co-workers, Dave, is conducting a forklift training session this weekend, and he has one such video, with a guy in a suit and tie introducing examples of forklift accidents.

-ne Sitting here on a beautiful Saturday in Prague with Wolf and Crowell next to me while Bmac and Statch are checking out a Lacoste store across the street (If you have any questions about the Lacoste clothing line contact Eric Baggett, it is insane what he knows) . After a couple Pilsner Urquels we decided it was time to step up to the plate and all take an Absinth shot together, Prague’s homemade shot . .we then took the night across the street to a five story club that sits right on the water and we had heard about (starts with a K but I am not going to try and remember it) . When we reached the third floor it was the 80s classic rock floor so needless to say we met some Prague locals and soaked in the night . After communism took a spill in ‘89, Prague got its act together and built a 5 floor warehouse of entertainment for me and my friends, and last night we explored every floor with efficiency while setting up camp on the third floor featuring hits from the 80’s and 90’s like Walking On Sunshine, Ghostbusters, and U Can’t Touch This - all my personal favorites. While dave, paul, and bryan crashed out, deuce and I walked around and enjoyed late night prague (ie getting harrassed by drugdealers and hookers) We spent most of the day on friday walking around and seeing the sights, then rested up for the nights activities.

Here now are some brief impressions:The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, his fourth and most recent film, was the first one I saw. They would NOT arrive in order.The Royal Tenenbaums, his third film, was the second I saw. At this point I noticed a pattern, and some checking revealed that Owen Wilson not only cowrote Bottle Rocket, but The Royal Tenenbaums as well. It wasn’t as quirky as The Life Aquatic nor as depressing as Tenenbaums, but fell into a comfortable zone of defining this director’s style, and I enjoyed it.Finally, I saw Rushmore, his second film. Owen Wilson also cowrote this one, and it has the same gamut of emotions as the other three.Each movie is similar in style and structure but very, very different in characters, settings and environments. I probably liked The Life Aquatic marginally better than The Royal Tenenbaums, and Bottle Rocket then comes in as my third favorite of the four.
